Family Strengths

Coming soon, we will have our first presentation, something parents are dealing with everyday - "Scheduling and Organization within the Family."

Everything we do everyday is part of a bigger picture and a dynamic purpose. HOW we go about family routines can a helpful part of family life, actually making life easier for parents and more secure for children.

Of course, life is for living, so there is the continual challenge to plan changing routines and to regularly recreate order. I can remember sharing the newspaper from front page to comics to crossword puzzles among five or six family members on a Sunday afternoon. The living room rug at a certain point was abandoned of bodies but strewn with pages. Mom had a neat way of calling us kids together again to swiftly restore order, which will be shared in our first presentation.

Whether it's routines at rising, the first meal, getting organized to leave for school or, for some families, to settle into homeschooling, or the myriad other activities that change by time of day, days of the week, and from week to week, and so on - the challenge is how to bring order out of chaos or, better yet, anticipate times and activities that need forethought in order to run as smoothly as possible.

Here's an outline of things we'll consider:

The Blessing and Learning Potential within an
Orderly Environment and Well-Planned Days

Thinking Things Through: Planning Time and Space
for the Youngest through the Older Siblings

A Home of "Warmth": You, the Parent - Keeping Up
Your Strength, Vitality and Hopefulness

Putting It All Together: The Well-Arranged Home and
Well-Planned Days in an Atmosphere of Caring and Warmth
